ENGL 213 - Contemporary Drama 3 Credit(s)
Corequisite: ENGL 101 Dramatic works by British and American authors as well as works in translation primarily since World War II. Emphasis will be upon how to read a play, the difference between technical appeal and meaning, and similar fundamentals for reading
drama for maximum understanding. A specific reading list will be available when the course is scheduled, but the work of playwrights such as Williams, Albee, Pinter, Behan, Ionesco, Handke, Beckett, and Shepard will typically be included.
