ENGL 305 - Shakespeare at the Movies 3 Credit(s)
Prerequisites: ENGL 101 This course looks at the legacy of Shakespearean drama in modern movies through a close-reading of select, influential plays and tracing their influence on and expressions in multiple examples of contemporary cinema. Topics include issues in adaptation and authorship, youth and popular culture, genre and visual style, representations of gender and family, and the historical and cultural contexts for play and film production.
