HSCI 301 - Biomechanics 4 Credit(s)
This course provides an introduction to concepts of mechanics as they apply to human movement, particularly those pertaining to occupational work, exercise, sport, and general physical activity. The student will gain an understanding of mechanical and anatomical principles governing human motion and develop the ability to link the structure of the human body with its function. The perspectives of rigid body and deformational mechanics applied to biological tissues including bone, muscle, and connective tissue will be explored.
