EDUC 547 - DSAP Student Teaching 3 per semester Credit(s)
EDUC 547 DSAP’s (Durational Shortage Area Permits), are offered to students whose teaching discipline is in a “shortage area” according to the State Department of Education (SOE). Currently, these shortage areas as they pertain to University of Bridgeport students are Math, Science, and History. The students teach in a school district for a period of two semesters (ten months total in a one-year period) and the DSAP allows them to forgo the six-credit residency/student teaching requirement for SOE teacher certification.
