EDUC 442M - Methods and Materials Teaching Social Studies, Middle School

This course assists students in developing competencies in unit planning, instructional strategies, and the utilization of diverse materials and technology for teaching the social studies. Students design courses of study that integrate state and national standards; contemporary thinking about the teaching of social studies is stressed. EDUC 442M concentrates on the content, practices, and planning appropriate for the middle level, grades 4-8. Interdisciplinary possibilities are examined.
