The history of a place is more than just a collection of dates and names - it is a hundred thousand interconnected stories of people who live there. In this class we will learn about Connecticut, whose citizens have become some of the most important and interesting Americans. But even this limited history is practically endless, with dozens of stories in every town, in every family. So, by focusing on a small, yet fascinating place we will hopefully find an appreciation for the depth and breadth of history itself. We will also focus on the way that this history can be integrated into various classroom settings, in order to link our students to the place they live.
