At University of Bridgeport’s Ernest C. Trefz Business School, we offer six undergraduate and three graduate degree programs, all designed to help you meet your specific education and career goals.
Our teaching-oriented professors have extensive business experience and will provide you with individual attention in small classes. You’ll learn the concepts necessary for you to think critically and creatively, as well as the hands-on skills and knowledge that modern business demands.
The Ernest C. Trefz School of Business at University of Bridgeport provides students with an interdisciplinary view of the ever-changing business environment.
With well-rounded classrooms and teachers who not only hold the highest degree in their fields but also maintain strong connections to the business world, UB graduates are well prepared to enter the business world.
In 2013, University of Bridgeport’s School of Business was named the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business after the successful local businessman and long-standing member of the board.
Mission
The Ernest C. Trefz School of Business advances the practice of business through the education of students and the scholarly and professional contributions of the faculty. Through high-quality, innovative teaching, the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business enhances critical thinking in its students, provides discipline knowledge through theoretical and applied learning and develops skills that are necessary for success in business. Students drawn from local, regional and international communities learn in a supportive environment that facilitates understanding of business in a dynamic, global environment.
Accreditation
All degree programs in the Ernest C. Trefz School of Business are licensed and accredited by the State of Connecticut Department of Higher Education and accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).
AACSB member-school
In addition, the School of Business is an AACSB member-school, and has been reaccredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners through 2027. The University received its Certificate of Reaffirmation of Accreditation at ACBSP Conference 2017 in Anaheim, California.
