Corequisite: Co-enrollment in HONR 329 is required.
A co-requisite requirement of HONR 329 , HONR 329-BCT is a backcountry trip that teaches HONR 329-BCT Outdoor Recreation & Leadership: Backcountry Trip backcountry skills. Honors students will design & deliver pre-trip training sessions to fellow students co-enrolled in HSCI 329BCT. This includes proper packing, tent set up, meal preparation, backcountry cooking, & wilderness first aid. Students enrolled in the Honors Leader track will act as designated Student Trip Leaders for the duration of the course & will be responsible for all aspects of pre-trip planning. All honors students will submit a reflection essay on the experience of the course at completion. Course fee required.
