Master of Science in Music Education Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • apply musical knowledge and skills to coursework
  • analyze issues in the field of music education from diverse perspectives
  • analyze school policies and practices through social, cultural, political, and historical lenses
  • evaluate teaching practices in music education from diverse perspectives
  • develop educational curricula that promote student learning in music education settings in relation to state/national standards
  • develop materials that address diverse and varied needs of PK-12 students
  • design assessments that provide valuable information about student learning and progress in music education settings
