BIOL 403B - Advanced Histology II

This is the second part of Advanced Histology, designed for the graduate student interested in further broadening their knowledge in the microscopic examination of cells and tissues. This course will also prepare those students interested to be certified in the field of histological examination. A major emphasis will be given on the four major types of tissues and the framework for understanding how the tissue organization contributes to the development of organ and organ systems. It will cover the methods and techniques required for the preparation and microscopic examination and interpretation of stained cells and tissue sections. Furthermore, graduate students have to critically discuss recent literature in a report format about the field of histology and medical applications. This course fulfills the Molecular (M) category for Biology graduate students
