Prerequisites: AWB 523 Must be completed prior to taking this course. This course builds on the basic information in Pharmacology 1 to expand the student’s understanding of pharmacology, including mechanisms of action; absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics); interactions with other drugs and with herbs/food; problems with special populations (prenatal, neonatal, elderly); rational drug usage for clinical disorders (therapeutics); clinical effects of drugs (by category); and toxicology.
