Prerequisites: FIN 309 
This course covers financial derivatives such as forward contracts, futures contracts, options and swaps. A derivative is a financial instrument that is derived from an underlying asset’ value. The underlying asset can be commodities, equities, bonds, foreign exchange, or stock indices. These derivatives can not only be used for speculation and arbitrage, but more importantly, can also be used for risk management. By the end of this course students will have a good knowledge of how these derivatives work, how they are used, and how they are priced. Offered: Spring only
