NS 612 - Neuroscience II

Prerequisites: NS 521, PP 523, PH 521, AN 525 .
This course is a continuation of NS 521, with the focus on the physiology of the nervous system. The sensory and motor systems are examined in detail. An emphasis is placed on the correlation of anatomical structure to physiological function and clinical dysfunction. The special sense organs and systems are studied in detail. The laboratory introduces students to neurological tests performed on patients, with an emphasis on understanding the underlying neuro-anatomy and neurophysiology that is the basis for these tests.
