NUTR 560M - Evidence Based Nutrition

Prerequisites: NUTR 560N , NUTR 560U , NUTR 560V , previously with grade of B or higher. Must be completed prior to taking this course.
This course is designed to build student competencies in searching for, appraising, and applying evidence within the science of human clinical nutrition. Students will practice formulating answerable clinical questions and developing search strategies using important databases in nutritional health care and general health sciences. Critical appraisal of research design and methodology will be practiced with published nutrition investigations, including controlled trials, observational studies, systematic reviews, and assessment validity analyses. Information literacy and critical thinking around botanical and nutritional supplementation will also be developed.
