ACCT 370 - Accounting Analytics

This course addresses the emerging needs of the accounting profession and prepares UB students for the evolving demands of the workforce. The accounting profession is undergoing a significant transformation due to artificial intelligence, big data, and automation. Employers now expect accountants to be proficient in analytics, ERP systems, and data visualization tools. 
To gain an understanding and application of technology in the accounting profession and to analyze accounting data effectively. Students will learn to create visualizations with Excel, Power BI, or Tableau, apply AI and automation tools in accounting contexts, use ERP and cloud accounting systems to manipulate and analyze data, apply predictive analytics for forecasting and decision suppmt, and assess ethical and professional responsibilities when using AI-driven tools, among other things.
