ENGL 235 - Health and Medicine in Literature

Prerequisites: ENGL 101 
Health and Medicine in Literature explores the intersection between literature and life and examines how novelists, poets, essayists, and other storytellers deal with issues related to health and medicine. Specific themes include the human body, death and dying, patients and practitioners, healing and recovery. The course introduces students to literary terms and narrative methods through the reading of novels, plays, poetry, memoir, essays, and medical narratives.
