FYS 101 - First Year Seminar

First Year Seminar helps to orient first year students to the University of Bridgeport’s academic culture and introduces them to campus resources that can ease their adjustment to college life. FYS equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to identifying and meeting their higher education goals. Course learning outcomes include improved communication skills, critical reasoning, information literacy, and degree planning. Most FYS classes form a learning community with an English 101 or English 100 class. Co-curricular programming includes film screenings, guest speakers, and social events.
